Energy can be neither created nor destroyed
but it can be wasted !
Energy is a basic
requirement for development in almost all the major sectors of the Indian
economy - agriculture, industry, transport, commercial, and residential
(domestic). Consequently, with the tremendous progress in technology, there has been
global changes in all fronts. Consumption of energy in different forms
of energy has been steadily rising all over the country and this has increased
our dependence on fossil fuels and electricity.
To fulfill our
luxurious desires the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) industry
has to play a major role. The Coolers,
fans, tube lights, heaters, in-built air-conditioners, lighting system in industrial,
commercial and domestic.
With climate
change coupled with increasing carbon footprints posing a threat to world, luxury
is also coming at a heavy price. With energy costs going up so much today,
everyone needs to conserve energy.
Saving
energy doesn’t mean stop doing - Saving energy means decreasing the
amount of energy used while achieving a similar outcome of end use.
Using less energy has lots of benefits – you
can protect environment and save money.
You will be main contributor to the cause of
saving the environment and boosting the economy of the nation. Even though
energy conservation reduces energy services, it can result in increased
environmental quality, national security, personal financial security and
higher savings. It is at the top of the sustainable energy hierarchy. It also
lowers energy costs by preventing future resource depletion. Generating energy requires precious natural
resources, for instance coal, oil or gas. Therefore, using less energy helps us
to preserve these resources and make them last longer in the future.
In the climate and energy sector, energy
efficiency stands out as an initiative that everyone can agree on.
It’s also something everyone can take action
on. Governments, policy makers, companies, and individuals can all take
steps to use energy more responsibly and efficiently.
And yet, with all the agreement and
recognition of its importance, energy efficiency is something that has to be
constantly emphasized and promoted.
Consumers are often poorly informed of the
savings of energy efficient products. The research one must put into conserving
energy often is too, time consuming and costly when there are cheaper products
and technology available using today's fossil fuels.
“Nothing is cleaner/Greener than the kilowatt
hour of energy that you don’t consume”, because that doesn’t need to be
produced or generated.
The recent “Smart cities” initiative announced
by present union government aims at creating conditions for adopting, at
massive scale, energy efficiency technologies, renewable energy sources
combined with smart networks, energy storage networks.
At the end of the day, we may not agree on
every specific detail of how we get to a world with less pollution and cleaner
energy. But what we do agree on is why we do it? We have a moral obligation—as people and, most
of all, as parents—to make sure the world we leave our children has a safe and
healthy environment and a vibrant and sustainable economy.
I believe, Energy efficiency is at a tipping point, and we can build a better future if we continue to put our confidence in it.
Thank you
